When it comes to dealing with conflict, there are three main ways of dealing with it. They are passive, aggressive and assertive. At different times, we may be any one of these. However, over the long term, we usually express one of these behaviors more than the other two.
This predominant type defines our coping mechanism, and it also greatly contributes to how others see us. We form our perceptions of others in a similar manner.
So are you overly passive, and considered a doormat? Or are you overly aggressive, and considered a bully or a tyrant?
